Mission, Vision & Values
Our vision is to create a culture of active, participatory philanthropy in Hong Kong by offering a rare opportunity to connect ‘head-knowledge’ with ‘heart-knowledge’. A significant part of our program is employee engagement. We want people to return from engagement initiatives more aware and with more understanding of the needs of society at large. Ideally these experiences will prompt participants to ask and determine their individual responsibilities in society. Inspired to take action, we hope these participants bring to their workplace and everyday lives an interest in sculpting corporate policies and personal practices that are more socially responsible than ever before.

Our mission is to encourage high-impact development initiatives in which organisations can empower impoverished communities by participating in life-changing philanthropic experiences. We understand that true development requires a long-term commitment built on sustainable relationships. We strive to forge such strong connections.

In the heart of everyone that works at Sowers Exchange is a passion and commitment to be the voice for the unheard and unseen in the impoverished world; to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and look after the widow and children. We believe that groups or individuals, that have the capacity, have a responsibility to help those who are in dire need. Our values reflect the belief in:

  • Commitment to the underprivileged, give them guidance, see them flourish and regain their lives and dignity.
  • Collaboration between the private sector, social purpose organisations, governments and the community to promote a socially aware society.
  • Stewardship in the use of resources ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of philanthropic giving.
  • Nurture and cultivate a spirit of compassion and generosity within society.
  • Experiential involvement to demonstrate how one can be a change maker.
